Pedagogical vision
Basic principles of a child’s learning phase:
- Intense observation of everything that happens in his/her surroundings
- Playing with other children, with supervision but without interference of caretakers
- Active participation in activities planned and guided by caretakers

Pedagogical rules
Basic rules that Tuma mi Man day-care center abides by are to:
- Provide a safe and encouraging environment for children in their charge
- Take children seriously and encourage their responsibility
- Involve children in care taking activities; teach them to care for others
- Encourage children to focus their attention on other children instead of on the caretaker
- Encourage unity by creating history and rituals together
- Consider children as part of the “working” team
- Give children as much freedom as possible while playing with other children; avoid unnecessary rules and involvement from caretakers
- Clearly formulate moral rules that are understandable for the children
- Evaluate both own and the children’s behavior regularly
- Tuma mi Man is an extension of the parents; daily contact with the parents is considered high importance
